Cosplay Guests this Summer

This Summer’s HYPER JAPAN Festival will feature a selection of experienced cosplayers who’ll be sharing the benefits of their knowledge with our visitors via a number of workshops running throughout the weekend, as well as selling some of their hand-made goods! See below for who’s confirmed so far:

Totoro superfan Vcosplay is all about the fun that cosplays brings him; cosplay gives him an artistic outlet from his day job in IT. VCosplay built Totoro as he is a HUGE fan and wanted to try his hand at building something that replicated Miyazaki’s amazing work! Describing himself as arty, nerdy and gadget-mad Vcosplay can’t wait to get photos with you, and share his skills via a workshop (details TBC).

Travelling all the way from Spain to attend HYPER JAPAN Festival is Hekady!

She has been cosplaying since 2009 and sees it as a great outlet to release her creativity and develop her artistic skills. You may know her for Dark Supergirl, Elektra or her Blood Elf Cosplay. Despite her many comic cosplays she is a BIG gamer and does live streams of World of Warcraft and Heroes of the Storm. One her favourite things about cosplay is how it has allowed her to meet amazing people and make new friends from all around the world. Hekady will have a table selling prints and answering any of your cosplay questions! She can’t wait to meet you!

RossECobb Cosplay has been cosplaying since 2009, the main body of his work being characters from musical theatre, and Disney. In March of this year, he scooped the top prize at LSCC of two tickets to Dragon*Con, with his recreation of the musical version of Ursula, from the Little Mermaid. This is Ross’s first time at Hyper Japan, and he is truly honoured to be joining as a guest.

Chiquitita is a Spanish cosplayer living in London, returning as a guest at HYPER JAPAN Festival. With a degree in Fashion and Design for Stage & Costume has led to her producing costumes for theatre shows! With a passion for sewing, design she has been showcasing her cosplaying at conventions for 6 years. Chiquitita has a keen interest in period costume, millinery and corsetry often applying these skills to her cosplays as well as teaching others tricks of the trade! This year she will be back helping participate in workshops, answer your cosplay questions and selling prints at her table.

Tasha Cosplay Mackenzie

Tasha has been cosplaying for the past three years but has had an interest in costume much longer and a wider interest in gaming and comics even longer than that! With a background in modelling and dance she often designed and made her own outfits so cosplay seemed like a natural progression. Winning the first contest she entered, Tasha was soon invited to guest, run panels and judge cosplay masquerades which she loves. With a desire and enthusiasm to continue progressing with bigger and better costumes, Tasha also loves to pass on the skills and tips she has learnt to others and will be holding a workshop (subject TBC) at the event as well as selling prints and answering your cosplay questions.
