The time was 2014 and the place was HYPER JAPAN’s Festival 2014. A lively and energetic young lady takes to the stage with the three members of her band, all dressed to the nines in the latest Harajuku-style fashion. From the first chord to the dying echoes of the final note, the audience cheers, mesmerised by the performance.
So was Broken Doll’s 2014 performance at HYPER JAPAN, and thus it is with pride we announce Broken Doll will once again wow you as they take to the stage at the Olympia Grand this summer. Rejecting mainstream trends, the band are singularly focused on bringing out the raw potential of each and every live performance, so come and experience how light, sound and … yes, fashion meld together. Broken Doll will also be making a guest appearance at the Sunday HYPER J-Style Collection fashion show!
Formed in 2006, Broken Doll are a four-person indie pop-punk bank with a strong sense of fashion inherited from big names such as the Sex Pistols, Blondie, Cyndi Lauper, Madonna and the Culture Club. With Sachi on vocals, guitar and chorus by Kensuke, Yuu on bass, and Takaki on drums, the band combines the latest in Harajuku fashion with authentic notes of punk music to form their own brand of Japanese punk style. Following a successful 2014 Australia tour and a 2015 Brazil tour, the band are currently in the midst of their second Brazil tour.
