Note: This page is from a previous year’s HYPER JAPAN Christmas Market event, please see our schedule for an up-to-date list of performances and activities.
We’ve all had experiences where we vow to learn how to cook (insert nationality here) food. That vow usually lasts until you go to the bookstore and browse the “beginner” guide to cooking said national cuisine. That’s why HYPER JAPAN is proud to announce that the Food Demonstration Stage will be coming back to the Christmas Market 2015. Recognizing the desire in people to learn Japanese cooking, as well as accepting the significant mental and logistical hurdles to doing so, the Food Demonstration Stage aims to give visitors the opportunity to learn how to make interesting and healthy Japanese dishes.
Learn the secret to making the perfect hand roll sushi, or learn how to make an ordinary bowl of ramen into something amazing. Whatever your feelings toward cooking and whatever level of expertise you have in a kitchen setting, the Food Demonstration Stage will be an exciting and worthwhile experience. What’s more, professional instructors will guide you every step of the way and all the necessary foodstuffs will be prepared for you; all you have to do is bring a willing, open mind! In the event that you’d rather just watch somebody else try their luck, there will also be food demonstrations on the main event stage.
The Food Demonstration Stage will have several sessions on each day of the Christmas Market. While the event is open and free to all who wish to participate, please do remember that spaces are extremely limited. Those interested should be prepared to line up in advance. Additionally, we strongly recommend that you eat the finished product while at the Demonstration event, as the organizers cannot be held responsible for any issues that may arise as a result of eating the prepared food outside the demonstration event.
