HYPER JAPAN Christmas Market 2015, Day 2!

It’s hard to believe that Saturday and its two sessions have come and gone. With plenty of content to heat up the Tobacco Dock and beat back the cold, it’s been a whirlwind of a day. With so much that happened today, where to start the recap?

The eat TOKYO Sushi Bar has now closed its doors after a full two days of serving up freshly prepared sushi. But worry not! While the Sushi Bar may have closed its doors, the Sushi Awards 2015 will be taking its place on Sunday! This means that not only will there be some simply divine sushi, five great sushi houses will be sending their chefs to prepare the sushi in front of you. Oh, and did we mention that all five sushi creations are totally original and created for this event?

The Tokyu Hands X HYPER JAPAN Gift Collection certainly caused a stir as people explored the full range of goods from Japan. The on-the-rim-of-your-teacup figurines were quite popular, even if some people didn’t quite know what to make of them. Other, more practical products – like the bento lunch boxes and the character face masks – enjoyed a similar popularity. The selection is admittedly rather eclectic but in its own way presents a neat encapsulation of what Japan is.

On the Live.Japan stage, MINORI was a vision of Victorian elegance in full regalia and shironuri makeup. As no doubt many in the audience were experiencing shironuri for the first time, her unwavering passion for her chosen art impacted many and left an impression. Her frequent tips and advice also had many fans scribbling madly in their noteboks and typing away on their mobile screens. Sunday participants will be pleased to note that she will be making an appearance at the Sunday J-STYLE Fashion show as a special guest.

As for tickets, ticket sales will end Sunday morning at 7AM, so if you haven’t yet, make sure you get your tickets! Tickets will still be available on the door for the Sunday session. Tomorrow will be the final session of HYPER JAPAN Christmas Market 2015, so if you haven’t already, make plans to come on down and join the fun!
