Professor Tomotaka Takahashi, CEO of Robo Garage Co, will be bringing Robi, one of his team’s groundbreaking communications robots, to this Summer’s HYPER JAPAN!
Last year JAXA, the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency, sent Kirobo to the International Space Station. A portmanteau of “Kibou”, Japanese for “hope” (the name of the Japanese laboratory module of the ISS) and “Robo”, Kirobo is designed to speak with JAXA astronaut Koichi Wakata.
Mirata is the “brother” unit of Kirobo, of which feature voice-recognition and face-recognition technology, as well as cameras, emotion recognition and natural language processing. Robi, who will be attending HYPER JAPAN 2014, is another of Robo Garage’s robots developed along the same lines. You can read more about Mirata, Kirobo, and their mission here. We can’t wait to see this astounding piece of Japanese technology in person in July!
