Step into the world of Evangelion like never before—right here in Manchester! We are proud to present an engaging Evangelion experience, following the successful run at this summer’s HYPER JAPAN Festival 2025 in London.

What is Evangelion?

Evangelion franchise follows the story in a post-apocalyptic world where giant biomechanical robots called Evangelion protect humanity from the mysterious beings called Angels. Evangelion‘s impact reaches far beyond anime, influencing not only the industry but pop culture at large, inspiring countless works in film, television, and art. 

Neon Genesis Evangelion is a landmark television anime series created and directed by Hideaki Anno. First aired in 1995, it quickly became a cultural phenomenon in Japan and beyond. Since 2007, under the direction of Hideaki Anno, the Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition series launched with EVANGELION: 1.0 YOU ARE (NOT) ALONE., followed by EVANGELION: 2.0 YOU CAN (NOT) ADVANCE. and EVANGELION: 3.0 YOU CAN (NOT) REDO.—all of which became massive hits. EVANGELION: 3.0+1.0 THRICE UPON A TIME, the fourth and final instalment of the New Theatrical Edition series, was released in Japan on 8 March 2021.

At the festival, visitors can explore Evangelion’s legacy through a specially curated exhibition. The booth will feature original storyboards and timeline panels that highlight the evolution of the series. Whether you are a devoted fan or a newcomer, the display offers unique insight into how Evangelion changed anime forever.
