Ozeki Sake was established in 1711 in Hyogo Prefecture (Japan) which is renowned for the high quality of water and rice for sake-making. Over the years, it became one of the major sake breweries, and in 1979, in order to supply the growing interest towards Japanese food and culture in the Western countries, Ozeki has been the first to start the production of sake in the US. As rice and water are the two major ingredients in order to brew sake, the local production of rice for sake-making in California and the clear water from the Sierra Nevada, made Hollister the ideal location to be chosen. In 2019, Ozeki Sake USA celebrates 40 years of commitment in the production of the finest sake.
