We are thrilled to announce exciting updates to our exclusive Sake & Bites Pairing Session, available only with the Premium Sake Ticket at HYPER JAPAN! This year, we are proud to introduce two remarkable experts who will elevate your tasting experience to a new level!

Saturday 20th July: 12:00-1:00 pm, 2:30-3:30 pm, 5:00-6:00 pm

Meet Our Experts 

In this engaging SAKE & BITES session led by expert Natsuki Kikuya, will allow you to explore four exceptional sake varieties, each paired with delectable canapés crafted by the talented Chef Izumi Nakamura. This relaxed yet enriching event will enhance your understanding of Japanese sake culture as you savour the flavours and learn the art of perfect pairings. 

Sake Expert – Natsuki

Kikuya Natsuki is Senior Sake Researcher at Wine & Spirt Education Trust (WSET) and sake curator at newly opened sake bar Kioku Bar at the OWO Ruffles Hotel. Her family has been running a Sake brewery in Akita, and her sake journey aims to trace the path of her family roots. She is behind the WSET’s global Awards in Sake attracting over 20,000 students from 27 countries. In 2015, she was honoured with the prestigious title of ‘Sake Samurai’.

Chef – Izumi Nakamura

Izumi Nakamura, founder of 5 INCORPORATED and originally from Japan’s scenic Amakusa islands, expertly combines her culinary heritage with her roles as a food educator. With a background in pharmacy, she excels in crafting dishes that are both flavorful and nutritionally balanced. As a prominent culinary instructor and a member of the International Kikisake-shi (SSI), Izumi is celebrated for her engaging teaching style, offering innovative demonstrations and memorable events on a global scale.
