Inko is UK based Japanese manga artist. She graduated Kyoto Zokei University of Art & Design in Japan (Awarded an excellency of study ), finished a master course of the same uni, and also graduated Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London, UK. Her visual works often imply cross overs of modern & traditional Eastern and Western cultures. She has been worked with Kyoto Newspaper, Letraset, Transport For London, British Museum, V&A Museum, Sony Entertainment Japan, and Guardian children’s book. Her manga adaptations of Midsummer night’s Dream were stayed in the finalists on 1st (2017) and Runner-ups on 2nd (2018) International Graphic Shakespeare Competition. Her work is featured in a ‘Inking Woman 250 years of Women and Comic Artists in Britain (2018)’ The comic Portrait Of Violence (2018) she joined as one of the artists awarded Independent Publisher Book Awards medal. Check out her diverse characters such as a manga heroin in hijab, a black kung Fu master boy on Extreme Stickering Manga (2019). Atmospheric horror depictions will be unveiled on Tam O’Shanter (2019). And there are more to come this year. In the event she’ll bring her treasury postcards, comics, and you can ask her commissions.
She has also designed the main visual for this year’s HYPER JAPAN.
