Creative Recycling | Japan’s biggest Recycled Art Exhibitions

Hokkaido may evoke images of ice and snow, delicious food, or wide-open spaces, but did you know that it’s also the home of one of Japan’s biggest Recycled Art Exhibitions?

The Fifth Annual Recycled Art Exhibition will be held in Sapporo this July, with a grand prize of 1,000,000 yen on offer for the winner and various smaller prizes for different categories. Submissions are welcomed until May 31st at 5 PM.

The Recycled Art Exhibition was originally created to encourage recycling and make people think more creatively about what is possible with their unused possessions. It has gone from strength to strength over the years and is hoping for a record number of submissions this year.

If you’re feeling creative, take a look at the incredible entries from previous years and start thinking about what might be possible with things you may otherwise have simply thrown away.

Let’s all try to think a little more about what we can do to for the planet while creating something new and beautiful at the same time.
