12th September 2pm: Japanese “Tsurushi-Bina : 吊るし雛” (Hanging Dolls) Ornaments – 2 hours Workshop
Learn to create different styles of traditional Japanese Doll Festival hanging ornaments and small toys in a social and friendly online event.
Tsurushi bina is a traditional decoration for Hina Matsuri – the Japanese Doll festival. The dolls were originally made from leftover kimono silk so the idea of repurposing fabric scraps is central to this craft. It is a great activity for using up left over materials you might have lying around your house.
At this workshop, we will learn to hand sew 3 easy and popular ornament designs. A baby doll, the camellia flower, and a colourful triangle to represent Mount Fuji.
