New Japanese Ghibli Merch for Luxury-Shopping “My Neighbor Totoro” Lovers
If you’re looking to blow your budget on some Ghibli clothes and accessories, Loewe has your back.
Love Totoro? How About Spanish Luxury Brand Loewe?
In recent months, Studio Ghibli’s merchandising team has come out with some interesting products, from cutesy pairs of drinking glasses to increasingly high-end (and high-priced) skateboards and t-shirts, but none of those have been quite as luxurious as this new line from Spanish luxury fashion house Loewe.
This particular collection is specifically “Loewe x My Neighbor Totoro,” and the designs feature mostly Totoro, his miniature friends, and the soot spirits (or “dust bunnies”) found in Mei and Satsuki’s house. Plastered across leather bags and appliqued onto big, fuzzy sweaters, the products are undeniably cute. They’re sure to make it onto and Totoro fan’s wishlist.
But Ghibli merchandise is never cheap, and this is made by a designer brand.
Prices vary, but the most “affordable” items in the collection are simple leather cardholders that will run you 42,900 yen (about 410 USD), closely followed by cotton t-shirts. Splurging on a Totoro biker jacket will cost you a whopping 1,078,000 yen (almost 10,275 USD).
Man, is that jacket cool, though.
The bag shown above, of course, is being sold for 337,700 yen (a little over 3,200 USD).
If you’ve got enough spare cash lying around to indulge your simultaneous love of high-quality merchandise and My Neighbor Totoro, have at it! The rest of us will be staring from afar… wanting…
If you’d like to take a look at all the cool merchandise Loewe is offering, you’ll find the collection here, on their webshop. If you’d rather read more about fun stuff in Japan, check Japankuru for new articles, and don’t forget to follow us on twitter, instagram, and facebook!
