Zenbeiyu Japan Rice Export (JRE) has spared no expense in its latest effort to promote Japanese food and sake abroad. Under the HYPER Creative Studio umbrella, Zenbeiyu JRE will be holding the “maze by Gordon Ramsay food and sake tasting show supported by Zenbeiyu Japan Rice Export.
This is a rare and extraordinary opportunity to learn about how to pair Japanese food and sake from none other than Chef Gohei Kishi of maze by Gordon Ramsay, who has himself prepared the dishes participants will be sampling. In addition, sake industry experts from Japan will be on hand to explain the intricate and delicate art of pairing food and sake. Space is limited to 50 participants per session so make sure you arrive early!
Saturday, 28 November:
The Saturday session will feature Chef Kishi of maze by Gordon Ramsay, making a special appearance where he will introduce the dishes he has created for the tasting session, and walk attendees through the characteristics of each dish. This is a rare opportunity to hear from the chef himself what sake his food would ideally be paired with.
Sunday, 29 November:
Zenbeiyu Sake Brewery representatives, each a sake expert in their own right, will present an industry insider’s perspective on what sake can be paired with Japanese food. Sake aficionados will appreciate the depth of knowledge the representatives bring to the discussion.
Chef Gohei Kishi
Chef Kishi began his training in Japan where his innate talent was recognized by the Michelin-starred Shinjuku Kappou Nakajima restaurant. After spending five years under the exacting standards of Nakajima, he moved base to London where he currently is Head of Asian concepts for the Gordon Ramsay Group restaurants in London and is based at maze by Gordon Ramsay. Chef Kishi will be making an appearance at the Saturday tasting session, as well as participating in the Sunday Sushi Awards 2015.
