Regardless of the weather, it really was a sizzling Saturday on day two of the HYPER JAPAN Festival 2017. Visitors were treated to scintillating selection of Japanese music, culture, food drink and much more besides, with some electrifying live performances.
Foremost amongst these was all-girl group Moso Calibration. Having made their UK debut at the Festival yesterday, there were plenty of fans queuing up for an encore today. Their high energy song and dance performance certainly put a smile on the faces of their audience. They’ll also be back for one last time tomorrow, so be sure not to miss out!
Another special experience at today’s Festival was the Chiptune workshop given by electronic music wizard Shirobon, with more than a little help from our Chiptune artist TORIENA. Having brought along their Game Boys, the lucky participants were able to learn how to create fantastic sounds from two masters of their craft. TORIENA will be performing again tomorrow for those who missed her today.
Also at HYPER Live, the HYPER J-Style Fashion Show was given an extra special makeover by Dreamy Bows and their VIP host, Haruka Kurebayashi. Those fortunate enough to be chosen to take part got to strut their stuff in a show choreographed by the legendary Harajuku fashion goddess. Elsewhere, visitors marvelled at the acrobatic antics of magical martial artists SHINOBI TRY, with nails being bitten in nervous awe at the death-defying feats.
Distinctly more delicious treats were being served up at the S&B Deco-Curry Workshop, where participants were able to create crazily cute curry concoctions that looked (almost!) too good to eat. Equally tempting will be S&B’s wasabi pizza workshop taking place tomorrow. Providing food for thought, meanwhile, as well as dishing out the secrets of the anime world, were our Anime Insiders, who will be back spilling more beans tomorrow. All-in-all, it’s been a real feast of a day!
