Following the announcement that Azumi Inoue, songstress behind many a Studio Ghibli anime song would be appearing at HYPER JAPAN, we are pleased to announce that Hirokatsu Kihara will once again be taking the stage at HYPER JAPAN Festival!
Intimately involved with the day-to-day inner workings of Studio Ghibli during its formative years, Mr. Kihara will be taking you on a spellbinding journey back almost 30 years in time to his days at the studio workshop, as hit anime after hit anime took form on the desks around him.
We can’t announce the full details yet, but we have it on very good authority that Mr. Kihara will be bringing something incredible with him. Hint: He was at Studio Ghibli, after all.
Formerly involved with the production desk at Studio Ghibli, Hirokatsu Kihara was involved in the hit anime Laputa: Castle in the Sky, My Neighbour Totoro and Kiki’s Delivery Service. Nowadays he writes ghost stories and MCs at monster conventions. His most famous work is Tales of Terror: Haunted Apartment, and has been a crucial contributor to many other hits in this genre.
