Since her debut, singer and songwriter Mayuko has been building up an impressive set of credentials and achievements with her ethereal tones and experimental music. Her name means ‘a child in the cocoon’ and should give insight into the ethereal and fastastic sense of music she creates. This summer, she’ll be appearing on stage where she’ll be performing a selection of her songs, ranging from rock to pop to electronica, and even a bit of folk thrown in!
With floating sounds and shimmering notes reminiscent of childhood fantasy stories, Mayuko has become well-known around the “mysterious Japanese lady with the name that means ‘a child in the cocoon’. In addition to having several TV and radio theme songs under her belt, Mayuko’s influence can also be felt at events here in the UK, in France, the US, and Italy.
Debuting with her mini-album “TOY CROSS” in 2001, Mayuko has collaborated with overseas artists such as Johnnie Fingers, DJ Kensei, Daniel Wang, The Album Leaf, and SHYNOLA. Embracing the social media distribution model, she quickly built up an online presence around the globe. Her most recent mini-album “Muguet Feerique” was released digitally on 30 March, 2016.
