The NHK World booth will be host to a range of special activities found only at the HYPER JAPAN Festival! From meeting the stars of popular NHK programs to educational experiences to posing for photos with Domo-kun himself! The NHK booth is always a place to check out, and should be on your list of places to go!
Meet a star
Singer and J-MELO host May J. is famous for interpreting the Japanese version of Let it Go, from Disney’s megahit Frozen. She will be at the NHK World booth to interact with her fans on July 10. May J. will also perform live on July 11 and participate in other stage activities on July 12.
Dress like a rock star!
The NHK World booth will exhibit authentic stage costumes worn by Kouki, the leader of “visual kei” rock band D=OUT. You’ll even get the chance to try one of them on!
Learn more about Japanese cuisine
Those of you who consider Japanese cooking too complicated are in for a pleasant surprise. Dining with the chef co-host Rika Yukimasa will be presenting some simple recipes and original tips at the NHK World booth on July 11.
Food and travel writer Michael Booth, author of the bestselling Sushi and Beyond, will be at the NHK World booth on 11 July to participate in his first talk show with Dining With the Chef co-host Rika Yukimasa.
Catch up with Domo
NHK World’s famous mascot will be at the booth for a session of souvenir snapshots – but if he happens to be out on an errand, don’t worry! You can still take a picture with his digital self (“Virtual Domo”), or try wearing his trademark smile (“Let’s be Domo!”). You can follow Domo’s travels across the world on his special page.
