Sandra Ann Couture
I am a couture dressmaker who trained in London during the 1970’s and even apprenticed with Dior. I now hand make lolita garments and accessories.
At the moment my main products are JSKs, blouses and petticoats but I am always working on new ideas and patterns. My JSKs are made of printed cottons bought in Japan to add extra authenticity and I use any left over fabric to make handbags and other accessories.
Using my skills I also do made to order, commissions and alterations. If you ever see one of my products but I don’t have it ready made in your size please ask about me making one up – often it doesn’t cost any extra and when it does usually it is less than £5 to over any added material costs. Typically a JSK takes me a week to make as does a petticoat (provided I have the materials in stock).
As well as working on lolita projects I have also made cosplays, LARP outfits and occasion wear. I currently have made up some vintage suits and dresses made from fabric and patterns that were popular in the 70’s.
In more recent years I have also branched out into making handbags so that my customers can coordinate with their outfits. The bags are made from the same fabric as the dresses and aim to show of the print to maximum effect whilst still serving a function.
I currently have an etsy store, Facebook page and email you can reach me. Please take a look at my products and come see my stall at HyperJapan. I would love to chat with all of you and am always open to suggestions.
