Ten-year-old skateboarder Sky Brown looks set to become Britain’s youngest Olympian at the Tokyo 2020 Games.
Sky, from Miyazaki in southern Japan, whose mother is Japanese and father is British, has chosen to qualify for the Olympics as part of Team GB. If she qualifies successfully, the youngest member of the team could be one of Britain’s strongest medal hopes in the first ever Olympic skateboarding competition. Sky is already excited for her first Olympics, saying “it will be super-special” and “it’s really cool that the Olympics will be in Japan because it’s my home, it’s where I was born,”
The tiny star, who began skating before she could walk, has already shown what she is capable of taking part in various competitions around the world and placing higher than women old enough to be her mother.
Despite her young age, Sky is already a professional surfer and skateboarder, Nike’s youngest athlete, won last year’s junior Dancing with the Stars in the US and recently made her catwalk debut in Paris. With all of this as well as being hugely popular on YouTube, Twitter and Instagram, an Olympic medal at 12 years-old seems entirely possible!
Good Luck Sky!!!!!
