Origami : Japanese Anime Character making with Alice Stern

Join Alice for summertime HYPER JAPAN origami anime character making! We will be focusing on two of the most popular and well known anime characters loved by many – Totoro and Pikachu. 

You will learn how to make a very original Totoro bookmark which looks super cute when slotted onto your book/book page (please see the pictures for reference) and some more complex folds to make Pikachu’s face. 

You will need to provide your own materials and decorative accessories. Alice recommends standard 15 by 15cm origami paper although any size will work depending on your confidence with making origami. If possible please get paper which has one side colour and the other white. You will also need a range of felt tip pens, a pencil, scissors and either glue or ‘glu dots’.

Materials & Equipment you will need for the workshop

Please prepare the blow by yourself before the workshop begins.

  • Origami papers of your choice of colours- 15cm x 15cm and one sided white origami paper is recommended for beginners. You can purchase origami papers from stationery shop or online retailers.
  • A pencil, felt tip pens and a pair of scissors
  • “Glu dots” or normal glue
