Origami: Geometric Rose Greeting Card and Hydrangea Making 

Join Alice for this Christmas special origami workshop. You will learn how to make an origami Christmas tree and a mini star to accompany it and then decorate it beautifully with glitter, and adhesive gems. They make perfect individual place settings for the Christmas table or little Christmas favours.

In the second half of the workshop you will make a seasonal Christmas flower greeting card using festive Japanese washi papers. You will learn to layer different textured origami paper to create a beautiful effect on your card and then decorate it with ribbon and sparkles. Great as a keepsake or to give to someone special at Christmas time.

All materials and decorative accessories will be provided and sent to you in advance of your workshop. This will include some Japanese washi origami papers, and a great range of plain and patterned papers for you to further your practise afterwards.

HYPER JAPAN will send videos or tutorials about the pieces that you have made shortly after your workshop.

Workshop plan

Please be prepared 10 minutes before the workshop starts.

1. Meet and greet. Introduction to origami in the home and seasonal origami papers (included in your material pack).
2. Making a beautiful origami Christmas tree using just one piece of paper.
3. Making a mini origami Christmas star to go with your tree and then decorating.
4. Origami seasonal Christmas card, layering with different textured papers and decoration.
5. Q&A time

You will need scissors and a pencil for this workshop. It would be handy if you have a ruler and some other decorative materials of your choice.
