Lyndsey Green Illustration
Lyndsey Green is a freelance illustrator based in Knutsford, Cheshire. Her work is inspired by her passion for wildlife and her love of fantasy and folklore. She particularly enjoys drawing the weird and wonderful animals such as binturongs and fruit bats which people may not expect or have even heard of before. Customers are often delighted to find their favourite animals illustrated, which might not be found in high street shops. Illustrating these unusual animals also helps to raise awareness of lesser known and endangered species.
Lyndsey aims to promote environmental conservation by offering a variety of eco-conscious gift items alongside her illustration prints, such as organic and Fairtrade tote bags, greeting cards and faux-suede vegan cushions. Everything is either handmade by her or printed in the UK by eco-friendly companies, with all paper-based products made using responsibly sourced, FSC certified paper. She is also striving to ensure all packaging is as minimal and plastic free as possible, using bio-degradable alternatives.
Lyndsey creates her artwork by using a combination of hand drawn and digital methods. She usually starts by drawing in pencil and adding shading, small details and patterns. She then scans this drawing and uses a graphics tablet to add colour digitally, giving the image vivid colours and a sharp finish. Lyndsey also loves to make zines and in 2018 she published her first illustrated book, the ‘A to Z of Feliformia’.
