Fried Udon (Yaki Udon)
Classic Japanese flavours in this simple fried dish, perfect for mid-week meals.
- 100g udon noodles
- 50g lean pork
- 50g cabbage
- 1 small carrot
- 1 leek
- 1 tbsp vegetable or sunflower oil
- 5g katsuobushi
- 1/2tbsp soy sauce
- 1tsp sake
- salt and pepper
- Drain the boiled noodles well. Cut the pork into 1cm cubes. Cut the cabbage into 2cm strips, and the carrot into fine strips of 2mm x 5cm. Slice the leek diagonally into 5cm widths.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the pork and vegetables. When cooked, add the noodles.
- Add A to seaon. Serve on a plate and garnish with katsuobushi.
