Japan-Mex Tacos

Soboro is a traditional recipe for stir-fried mincemeat. That is great as an ingredient for tacos.


  • 6-8 taco shells
  • 400g minced beef
  • 4 tbsp miso
  • 4 tbsp sake
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • chilli powder
  • vegetable oil to stir-fry

<For the topping>

  • 100g grated cheese
  • 12-16 cherry tomatoes
  • 1 small red onion, sliced
  • 50g lettuce, shredded


  1. Heat oil in a non-stick frying pan then add the meat and sake and cook on a low heat until the meat loses its stickiness.
  2. Add the sugar and miso, mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Finally, add the chilli powder for spiciness.
  3. Put the meat in the taco shells and top with the cheese and vegetables.
