Natto Omelette

Love it or hate it, natto, or fermented soybeans, is really good for you. Here is a great way to try it in a simple dish.


Serves: 1

  • 1 pack (30g) of natto
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 spring onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • mayonnaise (optional)


  1. Place the natto in a bowl and mix gently with chopsticks.
  2. Add the egg, spring onion and soy sauce, and mix well to create an omelette mix.
  3. Heat the oil in a pan, and add the omelette mix (turning once, after the bottom of the omelette has been lightly browned).
  4. Serve with mayonnaise.
