Pasta with Salted Cod Roe

This simple, healthy dish can be whipped up for one or for many, in almost no time at all. Tarako is salted cod fish roe – the main ingredient in taramasalata. If you have trouble finding the roe, try substituting some of this popular dish.

Serves: 1

    • 100g spaghetti
    • 35g tarako cod roe (try your local Asian or Scandinavian supermarket)
    • 1 clove garlic
    • Some nori

  • 10g butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 splash of lemon juice

  1. Cut the tarako with a knife and scoop out the cod roe. Grate the garlic.
  2. Place the tarako, garlic with [A] in a bowl and mix well.
  3. Mix the ingredients with the cooked spaghetti and a tablespoon of the water it was cooked in. Serve on a plate and garnish with fine strips of nori.
