Rice and Peas (Mame-gohan)

Add some colour to your rice!


Serves: 4

  • 450g rice, uncooked
  • 225g peas
  • 660ml dashi
  • 1 1/2 tbsp sake
  • 2 tsp mirin
  • pinch salt


  1. Shell the peas, if using fresh peas.
  2. Place the rice, dashi, sake, mirin and salt into a rice cooker.
  3. Add the peas and spread evenly over the top of the rice, and cook.
