Ripple (Sazanami)

A beautifully fruity and fluffy shochu cocktail.


Serves: 1

  • 5 ice cubes
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp sugar syrup or white sugar
  • white of 1 egg
  • 75ml shochu
  • lemon wedge
  • grated lemon rind, to garnish


  1. Put the ice cubes in a cocktail shaker and pour the lemon juice, syrup, egg white and shochu over them.
  2. Shake until a frost forms then pour into a short glass.
  3. Serve with a lemon wedge and rind sprinkled over the top.
