Salmon Rice with Tea (Sake-chazuke)

This is a simple and deliciously warming dish that is a great way to use up leftover cooked fish.

Ingredients

Serves: 1

  • 130g cooked rice
  • 30g salmon
  • 1 nori sheet, shredded
  • 300ml dashi or green tea
  • 1tsp soy sauce
  • pinch of salt
  • 1tsp wasabi

Steps

  1. Rub the salmon lightly with salt, grill it, then slice up into fine strips.
  2. Place the dashi (or green tea), soy sauce and salt in a saucepan and heat through.
  3. Serve the rice in a bowl, laying the salmon on top, and pour the heated dashi or green tea mixture through. Sprinkle with nori and garnish with wasabi. Stir lightly before eating.
