Soy Flavoured Simmered Chips
Why not try your chips with a traditional Japanese twist?
500g chips, cooked
1 tbsp sake
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp chopped ginger
sesame seeds, to garnish
- Put the dashi, sake, sugar, soy sauce and finely chopped ginger into a pan and bring to the boil.
- Lower the heat, and add the chips. Simmer until the chips absorb the broth, turning caramel brown as they do.
- Serve with sesame seeds. Alternatively, try with chopped nori or chilli powder.
