Tofu with Brown Sugar Syrup and Soybean Flour (Kuromitsu Kinako Tofu)

Try tofu as a delicious dessert. Simply pour your favorite sweet sauce or syrup over chilled, tofu slices for a simple and healthy dessert.

Ingredients

Serves: 4

  • 1 piece of silken tofu
  • some kuromitsu brown sugar syrup
  • some kinako soy bean flour

Steps

  1. Cut tofu into 8 thin slices
  2. Top with desired amount of kuromitsu syrup and sprinkle with kinako.

Tip: You can also make you own kuromitsu syrup by mixing one part brown sugar to 0.7 parts of water, e.g. 100g sugar to 70ml water. Add the sugar and water to a saucepan and heat over a low to medium flame until the mixture begins to melt and the syrup thickens. Remove from the heat and cool.
